Did You Know? ... Interesting Facts and Statistics:
Inpatient drug rehab treatment provides a structured program that often involves both individual counseling and treatment groups. The goal of an inpatient drug rehab treatment program is to help the person to be sober and to prepare the individual for a life back in the community. Family members often attend special programs in conjunction with the treatment center in order to help them with the changes that the whole family will go through and to educate them about their loved one?s addiction problems.
Those lower on the totem pole, such as heroin dealers will find that their financial gains do not compare to those in the upper levels of heroin trafficking. This is attributed to the fact that they are more often than not addicts themselves and are frequently in and out of jail. Also, U.S. laws and law enforcement have stepped up their efforts on interrupting the flow of heroin into the United States. They have also increased their efforts in arresting heroin distributors and heroin dependent individuals who commit crimes to maintain their addiction.

Because marijuana is the predominant substance used by those using an illegal drug, States that showed high prevalence rates for any illegal drug also had high prevalence rates for past month use of marijuana. In fact, all 10 States in the top fifth for use of an illegal drug for persons aged 12 or older also were ranked in the top fifth for past month use of marijuana. In the 12 to 17 age group, seven States were in the top fifth for both use of any illegal drug and use of marijuana: Colorado, Delaware, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, South Dakota, and Vermont. Seven States were common to the top fifth for current marijuana use among persons aged 12 or older and teens aged 12 to 17: Colorado, District of Columbia, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
