In the 12 to 17 age group, seven States were in the top fifth for both use of any illegal drug and use of marijuana: Colorado, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, and Vermont. Eight States were common to the top fifth for past month marijuana use among persons aged 12 or older and teens aged 12 to 17: Alaska, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
