In 2005, the most prevalent source from which recently used drugs were obtained among nonmedical users of prescription-type drugs was "from a friend or relative for free."
In 2006, 14.5 percent of teens aged 12 to 17 who received mental health treatment or counseling in the past year were dependent on or abused illegal drugs or alcohol in the past year, higher than the 6.3 percent who did not receive treatment or counseling.
