Apple Valley, CaliforniaIntroduction to Apple Valley, California
The California town of Apple Valley is located at the southern edge of the Mojave Desert in San Bernardino County's Victor Valley, about 46 miles north of San Bernardino and 90 miles northeast of Los Angeles. The town is situated on California State Highway 18 and only a short distance east of Interstate I-15. Other major thoroughfares near Apple Valley include U.S. Route 395 and State Highway 247. Neighboring communities include Victorville (to the west), Adelanto (to the northwest), and Hesperia (to the southwest).
Named by an early settler around the turn of the century for its abundance of apple fields, Apple Valley relied on apple growing as its principal industry up until the time of World War I. In subsequent years, a number of factors (including fungus, frosts, and rising cost of electricity to operate the water pumps) combined to kill off many orchards and severely impact the once-thriving industry. By mid-century, enterprising land developers discovered the area and a bedroom community took root. Modern homes, golf courses, and other recreational facilities sprung up; and within a ten-year period, three elementary schools and a junior high school were built and expanded. The town soon became a retreat for movie stars and the site of several movie productions. Among its more noted residents were Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, who claim Apple Valley as their final resting place. The town was incorporated in 1988.
Apple Valley Area Attractions
A unique feature of Apple Valley is a network of equestrian trails that allow easy travel by horseback through many areas of the town. Annual town events include July's Freedom Festival (an old fashioned Independence Day celebration) and the Apple Valley Round Up, a September festival which includes a parade, carnival and entertainment lasting throughout an entire weekend. Nearby Victorville is home to the California Route 66 Museum, which celebrates the famed national highway with exhibits, artifacts, and photographs. Also in Victorville is the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds, home to the County Fair, which draws tens of thousands annually to enjoy a rodeo, carnival, award-winning livestock, stage shows, and much more. Sports fans can find pro baseball in the neighboring town of Adelanto, home to the High Desert Mavericks, the Class Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. The resort areas of Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear, and Wrightwood are only an hours drive from Apple Valley, which is also only a short drive from the wide array of entertainment opportunities available in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Are drugs and alcohol creating destruction in your life in Apple Valley, CA.? Do you know of someone in Apple Valley, CA. that is going down the dark path of drug or alcohol addiction? It is very easy for someone to fall into the trap of addiction, but an individual soon realizes that it is extremely difficult to kick an addiction. That is where a Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Treatment Facility in Apple Valley comes in, to assist with the seemingly impossible task of treating individuals who have lost hope at ever being sober and happy again.
A Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Rehab Program in Apple Valley treats drug addiction and alcoholism by ingraining in an addict that drugs and alcohol are not the solution to their problems and difficulties in life. It teaches an addict that all of their problems have solutions, solutions that can be found through cognitive reasoning and common sense. An Alcohol Rehab or Drug Treatment Program in Apple Valley would put the individual in the frame of mind to overcome life's obstacles by confronting them head on, and obliterates the person's desire to use drugs as a way out.
There are many different types of in-patient and out-patient treatment programs available in Apple Valley, CA., because each individual has different needs. Examples of programs available in Apple Valley are Outpatient Treatment Facilities, Short-term Treatment Programs, Inpatient Addiction Recovery Facilities, Long-term Addiction Recovery Programs, support group meetings, drug counseling, halfway houses and sober living.
Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Centers in Apple Valley have a two-prong approach to treatment, both the physical and psychological causes and effects of drug and alcohol addiction. As the individual's brain adapts to the use of a psychoactive substance over time, the effect that the drug creates within the body is lessened. Due to this physical tolerance, more and more drugs or alcohol must be consumed to get high or even get a buzz.
The physical aspect of addiction is the first thing an addict will address when making the decision to seek treatment for addiction. A detoxification program in Apple Valley, California delivered by a qualified Drug Rehab or Alcohol Treatment Program will navigate the addict through the uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms that are caused by abruptly coming off of drugs or alcohol. These withdrawal symptoms can last for days, weeks or months; all depending on the drug of choice and individual circumstances. Heroin withdrawal for example will take a considerable amount of time to detox and is a highly painful and uncomfortable process. Detoxification and psychological counseling right from get-go will put the individual on the right path to address issues involved with drug and alcohol abuse. This gives the individual a better chance of having a lasting recovery and prevents relapse.
An Alcohol Treatment or Drug Rehab Facility in Apple Valley, CA. takes the individual out of the environment which may have triggered their addiction, and offers an environment that will ensure a successful recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The individual will be given tools to better handle life situations and triggers which may have caused their drug use. When the individual completes treatment and does return home, he will do so with a new ability to handle triggers, which will no longer have an influence over him, his actions and behavior.
People who have abused drugs and alcohol shows changes in their brain. Research shows that these changes in the brain effect how an addict responds to situations. Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Facilities are aware of this and know that an addict will need more than high hopes to beat addiction. This is yet another reason why professional treatment at a Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Treatment Program in Apple Valley, CA. is so important.
There are a lot of reasons to seek treatment today, mainly because most people who try to kick the habit on their own will fail and just start using drugs or alcohol again. Tackling addiction and getting control of your life can be achieved by seeking treatment at an Alcohol Rehab or Drug Treatment Center in Apple Valley, CA. It doesn't have to be another failure, sobriety can be achieved with the right technology and the care and support of people who want to see you winning again.
