Although stimulants are used to treat certain medical conditions, amphetamines often are abused because they are easily manufactured in illegal laboratories.
Another form of drug rehab treatment that is available is inpatient short-term rehab. This type of treatment program is somewhat different from many other types of drug rehab programs. An individual who attends an inpatient short-term treatment center is provided with substance abuse treatment for approximately 4-6 weeks. Typically this form of drug rehab treatment is administered by medical professionals and trained counselors. The primary focus of inpatient short-tem drug rehab treatment is on medical stabilization, abstinence, and behavior modification.
In 2008, 37.7 percent of teens aged 12 to 17 with past year MDE received treatment for depression (i.e., saw or talked to a medical doctor or other professional or used prescription medication).
Rates of current alcohol use were 63.2 percent for full-time employed adults aged 18 or older in 2005, higher than the rate for unemployed adults (56.5 percent).
