Are drugs and alcohol creating destruction in your life in Conning Towers-Nautilus Park, CT.? Do you know of someone in Conning Towers-Nautilus Park, CT. that is going down the dark path of drug or alcohol addiction? It is very easy for someone to fall into the trap of addiction, but an individual soon realizes that it is extremely difficult to kick an addiction. That is where an Alcohol Rehab or Drug Treatment Facility in Conning Towers-Nautilus Park comes in, to assist with the seemingly impossible task of treating individuals who have lost hope at ever being sober and happy again.
An Alcohol Rehabilitation or Drug Rehab Facility in Conning Towers-Nautilus Park treats drug addiction and alcoholism by ingraining in an addict that drugs and alcohol are not the solution to their problems and difficulties in life. It teaches an addict that all of their problems have solutions, solutions that can be found through cognitive reasoning and common sense. An Alcohol Rehab or Drug Treatment Program in Conning Towers-Nautilus Park would put the individual in the frame of mind to overcome life's obstacles by confronting them head on, and obliterates the person's desire to use drugs as a way out.
There are many different types of in-patient and out-patient treatment programs available in Conning Towers-Nautilus Park, CT., because each individual has different needs. Examples of programs available in Conning Towers-Nautilus Park are Outpatient Drug Rehabilitation Facilities, Short-term Drug Rehabilitation Facilities, Inpatient Addiction Recovery Programs, Long-term Addiction Recovery, support group meetings, drug counseling, halfway houses and sober living.
Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Centers in Conning Towers-Nautilus Park have a two-prong approach to treatment, both the physical and psychological causes and effects of drug and alcohol addiction. As the individual's brain adapts to the use of a psychoactive substance over time, the effect that the drug creates within the body is lessened. Due to this physical tolerance, more and more drugs or alcohol must be consumed to get high or even get a buzz.
The physical aspect of addiction is the first thing an addict will address when making the decision to seek treatment for addiction. A detoxification program in Conning Towers-Nautilus Park, Connecticut delivered by a qualified Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Facility will navigate the addict through the uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms that are caused by abruptly coming off of drugs or alcohol. These withdrawal symptoms can last for days, weeks or months; all depending on the drug of choice and individual circumstances. Heroin withdrawal for example will take a considerable amount of time to detox and is a highly painful and uncomfortable process. Detoxification and psychological counseling right from get-go will put the individual on the right path to address issues involved with drug and alcohol abuse. This gives the individual a better chance of having a lasting recovery and prevents relapse.
A Drug Rehab or Alcohol Treatment Center in Conning Towers-Nautilus Park, CT. takes the individual out of the environment which may have triggered their addiction, and offers an environment that will ensure a successful recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The individual will be given tools to better handle life situations and triggers which may have caused their drug use. When the individual completes treatment and does return home, he will do so with a new ability to handle triggers, which will no longer have an influence over him, his actions and behavior.
People who have abused drugs and alcohol shows changes in their brain. Research shows that these changes in the brain effect how an addict responds to situations. Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Facilities are aware of this and know that an addict will need more than high hopes to beat addiction. This is yet another reason why professional treatment at an Alcohol Rehabilitation or Drug Treatment Facility in Conning Towers-Nautilus Park, CT. is so important.
There are a lot of reasons to seek treatment today, mainly because most people who try to kick the habit on their own will fail and just start using drugs or alcohol again. Tackling addiction and getting control of your life can be achieved by seeking treatment at a Drug Rehab or Alcohol Treatment Facility in Conning Towers-Nautilus Park, CT. Did You Know? ... Interesting Facts and Statistics:
22.5 million Americans aged 12 or older in 2004 were classified with past year substance dependence or abuse (9.4 percent of the population), about the same number as in 2002 and 2003. Of these, 3.4 million were classified with dependence on or abuse of both alcohol and illegal drugs, 3.9 million were dependent on or abused illegal drugs but not alcohol, and 15.2 million were dependent on or abused alcohol but not illegal drugs.
Among teens aged 12 to 17, an estimated 17.3 percent used alcohol in the month prior to the survey interview. This rate was higher than the rate of youth alcohol use reported in 2000 (16.4 percent). Of all teens, 10.6 percent were binge drinkers, and 2.5 percent were heavy drinkers. These are roughly the same percentages as those reported in 2000 (10.4 and 2.6 percent, respectively).
Decreases in the rate of current use of a substance often occur when there are increases in the level of perceived risk of using that substance. Looking over the 7-year period, the proportion of teens aged 12 to 17 who reported perceiving great risk from smoking one or more packs of cigarettes per day increased from 63.1 percent in 2002 to 69.7 percent in 2008. During the same period, the rate of past month cigarette smoking among teens aged 12 to 17 dropped from 13.0 to 9.1 percent.
Rates of substance dependence or abuse were associated with level of education in 2006. Among adults aged 18 or older, those who graduated from a college or university had a lower rate of dependence or abuse (7.3 percent) than those who graduated from high school (9.4 percent), those who did not graduate from high school (10.3 percent), and those with some college (10.8 percent).
Rates of SPD were highest for adults aged 18 to 25 (7.5 percent) and lowest for adults aged 50 or older (2.9 percent).
Most (85.9 percent) of the 4.6 million past year alcohol initiates were younger than age 21 at the time of initiation.
