Did You Know? ...
Interesting Facts and Statistics:

Individuals that are addicted to Methadone and other similar narcotics are turning their lives around every day by simply making the decision to be drug-free at last through choosing to commit to treatment.

Teens aged 12 to 17 who believed their parents would strongly disapprove of their using a particular substance were less likely to use that substance than were teens who believed their parents would somewhat disapprove or neither approve nor disapprove. For example, past month cigarette use was reported by 7.9 percent of teens who perceived strong parental disapproval of their smoking one or more packs of cigarettes per day compared with 40.5 percent of teens who believed their parents would not strongly disapprove. Current marijuana use also was much less prevalent among teens who perceived strong parental disapproval for trying marijuana or hashish once or twice than for those who did not (4.6 vs. 27.0 percent).

Tolerance to Methadone that has been administered in a pain-control program usually occurs during the first weeks of use; whereas respiratory depression, sedation, and nausea have been noted almost immediately.

There was a decrease in the rate of illegal drug dependence or abuse among boys aged 12 or older from 3.9 percent in 2004 to 3.5 percent in 2005. The rate for girls did not change between 2004 and 2005 (2.2 vs. 2.1 percent).

Residential care is usually conducted in non-clinical settings which are often referred to as therapeutic communities. These types of drug rehab programs may also include additional aspects to their treatment component strategies such as social education.

Amphetamine products often contain substances that do not easily dissolve in water. When users inject amphetamines, these particles can pass into the body and block small blood vessels or weaken the blood vessel walls. Kidney damage, lung problems, strokes, or other tissue injury may result.
