For the youngest age group (12 to 17), boys and girls had comparable rates of current alcohol use in 2001 (17.2 percent of boys and 17.3 percent of girls). However, rates of binge and heavy alcohol use were higher among male teens than female teens in both 2000 and 2001.
In 2004, 19.9 percent of unemployed adults aged 18 or older were classified with dependence or abuse, while 10.5 percent of full-time employed adults and 11.9 percent of part-time employed adults were classified as such.
