Methadone addiction can cause dry mouth but it does not cause teeth to rot, which is a common myth that has been spread among addicts. Once addicts receive treatment for their addiction to the drug as they are now able to take note of their physical condition, see the poor condition of their teeth, and perhaps blame it on the methadone.
