Current illegal drug use differed by employment status in 2006. Among adults aged 18 or older, the rate of drug use was higher for unemployed persons (18.5 percent) than for those who were employed full time (8.8 percent) or part time (9.4 percent). The rate of past month alcohol use increased with increasing levels of education.
