Almost four fifths (77.9 percent) reported having seen or heard drug or alcohol prevention messages from sources outside of school, lower than in 2002 when the percentage was 83.2 percent. Most (59.6 percent) teens reported in 2007 that they had talked with a parent in the past year about the dangers of drug, tobacco, or alcohol use.
GHB was widely available in the U.S. in health food stores, until the substance became banned in the United States. Many false claims were made in order to promote GHB such as stating that using the substance could help build muscles, burn fat and improve sex.
