Do you have a problem with drug or alcohol addiction and live in Clinton, Illinois? Are you concerned about a family member in Clinton, who has a problem like this? Whatever your situation it's easy to believe that you're alone with this . . . that, somehow, you have to solve the problem all on your own. That is not the case. You don't have to deal with drug addiction or alcoholism on your own!
An Alcohol Rehabilitation or Drug Treatment Center in Clinton, is a good option for the treatment of drug addiction and alcoholism. The goal of an Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Center in Clinton, IL. is to direct the initial treatment plan toward the ability of the individual to stop using drugs and/or alcohol and hence avoid the psychological, legal, financial, social, and physical consequences that are usually associated with drug addiction and alcoholism.
There are many different addiction treatment approaches such as Long-term Treatment Programs, Outpatient Treatment Centers, Short-term Treatment Facilities, Inpatient Treatment Programs, support group meetings, drug counseling, halfway houses and sober living.
Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Centers in Clinton, typically focus on the two-fold nature of drug addiction and alcoholism: physical and psychological addiction. Physical addiction can be treated by a detoxification program in Clinton, Illinois with treatment procedure to assist with the painful withdrawal symptoms which manifest themselves when a person discontinues the consumption of a drug or drugs that they are addicted to. With habitual use of a psychoactive substance the brain gradually adapts to the presence of the drug so the desired effect becomes minimal. This is how physical tolerance develops to drugs such as heroin, amphetamines, cocaine, nicotine and alcohol to name a few. It also explains why more and more of the drug is needed to get the same effect with habitual use of an addictive drug. The abrupt cessation of an addictive drug can lead to serious withdrawal symptoms where the body may take weeks or months (depending on the drug involved) to return to normal function. The withdrawal symptoms from certain substances, such as heroin, can induce severe and painful withdrawal symptoms, and be quite prolonged.
A Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Rehab Center in Clinton, will not only provide the person with a professional detox but also provide a Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Rehab Facility for the psychological issues inevitably underlying all drug and alcohol addiction problems, so as to decrease the chances of relapse and increase the chances of a clean and sober life.
An Alcohol Treatment or Drug Rehabilitation Facility in Clinton, IL. is more likely to be one of the most successful methods for treating an individual with a severe drug addiction problem. Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Facilities in Clinton, are designed to deliver a comprehensive treatment curriculum and assist a person in every facet of their life 24 hours a day.
For a person to make a successful recovery, they must acquire new knowledge, abilities and 'life skills'. This new knowledge, abilities and life skills must be directed toward strategies for returning home to Clinton, from a Drug Rehab or Alcohol Rehabilitation Facility and encountering old drug using acquaintances in Clinton - as well as ways to handle the many reminders and triggers of their past drug using days in Clinton. These triggers can produce memories which can produce psychological stressors. These psychological stressors often hinder the recovering addict, making it very difficult for them to feel as though they have control over their actions concerning drug using impulses. This is because research into the brain of addicts shows changes in the way their brain functions long after they have discontinued using drugs and/or alcohol. This is the main reason why even an individual with will power as strong as steel may find it extremely difficult to overcome drug addiction or alcoholism without professional addiction treatment. With so many obstacles such as triggers, drug cravings, and changes in the way their brain functions due to habitual drug use, it is no surprise why so many people attend an Alcohol Treatment or Drug Rehab Facility each year to successfully recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.
There are many reasons why a person should enroll into a Drug Rehab or Alcohol Treatment Center in Clinton. A few of the many reasons are: the inability to control or eliminate their drinking or drug use, alienating their friends and family, legal problems, severe depression and general unhappiness due to excessive drug or alcohol use.

Based on a new approach to estimating incidence, the 2004 NSDUH shows that the illegal drug category with the largest number of new users was nonmedical use of pain relievers. 2.4 million persons used pain relievers nonmedically for the first time within the past 12 months. The average age at first use among these new initiates was 23.3 years.
Methadone may increase the risk of miscarriage and still births and opiate users in general may give birth to smaller babies.
In 2008, adults with past year MDE were more likely than those without MDE to be dependent on or abuse illegal drugs or alcohol (20.3 vs. 7.8 percent).
In 2006, 22.6 percent of teens aged 12 to 17 reported that, in the past year, they had gotten into a serious fight at school or at work; 17.0 percent had taken part in a group against group fight; 3.2 percent had carried a handgun at least once; 3.3 percent had sold illegal drugs; 4.8 percent had, at least once, stolen or tried to steal something worth more than $50 (increased from 4.2 percent in 2005); and 7.9 percent had, in at least one instance, attacked others with the intent to harm or seriously hurt them.
The percentage of the population with dependence on or abuse of alcohol also increased from 2000 to 2001 (5.4 to 5.9 percent). There was a significant increase from 2000 to 2001 in the rate for alcohol abuse (3.1 to 3.5 percent) but not in the rate for alcohol dependence (2.3 to 2.4 percent).
In 2007, 56.3 percent of current drinkers aged 12 to 20 reported that their last use of alcohol in the past month occurred in someone else's home, and 29.4 percent reported that it had occurred in their own home. About one third (30.2 percent) paid for the alcohol the last time they drank, including 8.2 percent who purchased the alcohol themselves and 21.8 percent who gave money to someone else to purchase it. Among those who did not pay for the alcohol they last drank, 37.2 percent got it from an unrelated person aged 21 or older, 20.7 percent from another person under 21 years of age, and 19.5 percent got it from a parent, guardian, or other adult family member.
