Cigarette smoking in the past month was less prevalent among adults with more education. Among adults aged 18 or older, current cigarette use in 2006 was reported by 35.6 percent of those who had not completed high school, 31.9 percent of high school graduates who did not attend college, 27.7 percent of persons with some college, and 14.3 percent of college graduates.
