The only significant change between 2005 and 2006 in the rates of past month use among adults in this age group involved heroin, which increased from 0.03 to 0.14 percent. Lifetime nonmedical use of OxyContin? among adults aged 26 or older increased from 0.9 percent in 2005 to 1.1 percent in 2006, and past year use of stimulants and heroin also increased (stimulants, from 0.6 to 0.9 percent; heroin, from 0.1 to 0.2 percent).
