An individual was arrested in Maine in 2000 and charged with selling approximately $8,000 worth of OxyContin weekly. The OxyContin was prescribed to the individual's wife to control cancer-related pain. The OxyContin pills were paid for by Medicaid, and the husband sold most of them for a substantial profit.

The top fifth for average annual incidence of marijuana for persons aged 12 or older was comprised mostly of States from the West (five) and from the Northeast (four).
