Among past month marijuana users aged 12 or older, 34.8 percent (5.1 million) used the drug on 20 or more days in the past month. The percentage of past month marijuana users aged 12 to 17 who used on 20 or more days in the past month declined from 28.1 percent (536,000) in 2004 to 23.1 percent (400,000) in 2005.

Codependency is described as a pattern of habitual self-defeating coping mechanisms. Codependency occurs as the result of living in a house with someone who suffers from alcoholism or drug addiction.

In a study conducted by Japanese researchers mice, which received morphine (10 mg kg-1 s.c.) twice a day for 5 days showed withdrawal syndromes such as jumping, rearing and forepaw tremors.

For opiate addicts, the beginning of treatment is detoxification, a controlled and medically supervised withdrawal from opiates. Detox by itself is not a solution, because most addicts will eventually resume taking the drug unless they get further help.

A majority of teens (90.2 percent) reported that their parents would strongly disapprove of their trying marijuana or hashish once or twice. Current marijuana use was much less prevalent among teens who perceived strong parental disapproval for trying marijuana or hashish once or twice than for those who did not (4.6 vs. 27.0 percent).
