MDMA, also known as Ecstasy, was first synthesized and patented in 1914 by the German drug company called Merck.
As a percentage of those aged 12 to 17 who had not used marijuana prior to the past year, the youth marijuana initiation rate in 2008 (5.6 percent) was similar to the rate in 2007 (5.2 percent).
Among boys aged 18 to 22 in 2008, full-time college students and those not enrolled full time in college did not differ significantly in their rates of past month cigar smoking (18.0 and 18.5 percent, respectively).
