Among teens aged 12 to 17, the rate of current cigarette smoking in 2008 did not differ significantly by gender (9.0 percent for boys vs. 9.2 percent for girls). Crime and heroin addiction have long been associated together. This is due to many reasons such as the fact that heroin importation and distribution are illegal.
