The number of Ecstasy initiates in the past year was 1.2 million in 2002, 642,000 in 2003, 607,000 in 2004, and 615,000 in 2005. Most (65.9 percent) of the recent Ecstasy initiates in 2005 were aged 18 or older at the time they first used Ecstasy.
