In 2008, an estimated 15.0 percent of past year marijuana users aged 12 or older used marijuana on 300 or more days within the past 12 months. In 2008, underage current alcohol use rates were higher in small metropolitan areas (27.9 percent) compared with large metropolitan areas (25.9 percent) and similar in large metropolitan areas and nonmetropolitan areas (25.3 percent).
