Interesting Facts and Statistics:

Scientists have learned a that when someone smokes marijuana, a chemical in marijuana called THC rapidly passes from the lungs into the bloodstream, which carries the chemical to the brain and other organs throughout the body.

Past-month marijuana use among 12-to 17-year-olds climbed 9 percent from 2008 (6.7%) to 2009 (7.3).

Much of the heroin used in the United States comes from poppies grown in Colombia and Mexico.

The percentages of teens reporting binge alcohol use and use of cigarettes and marijuana in the past month were lower among those who perceived great risk in using these substances than among those who did not perceive great risk. For example, 5.2 percent of teens aged 12 to 17 in 2005 who perceived great risk from "having 5 or more drinks of an alcoholic beverage once or twice a week" reported binge drinking in the past month (consumption of five or more drinks of an alcoholic beverage on a single occasion on at least 1 day in the past 30 days); by contrast, past month binge drinking was reported by 13.0 percent of teens who saw moderate, slight, or no risk from having five or more drinks of an alcoholic beverage once or twice a week. Past month marijuana use was reported by 1.5 percent of teens who saw great risk in smoking marijuana once a month compared with 9.7 percent of teens who saw moderate, slight, or no risk.

Drug Intervention is a great and effective process in that it is able to reach a particular level of success no matter what the addicted person decides to do. If the addict ultimately chooses not to accept any help yet their family and friends obtain new coping skills, then it is still a small success.

It takes only $1,000 worth of ingredients to make $20,000 worth of meth.
