Marijuana smokers have many of the same respiratory problems as tobacco smokers, such as daily cough and phlegm production, more frequent acute chest illness, and a heightened risk of lung infections.
OxyContin is considered to have a high abuse potential and is prescribed for moderate to high pain relief associated with injuries, dislocation, fractures, neuralgia, arthritis, and lower back and cancer pain.
In 2008, 21.4 percent of teens aged 12 to 17 reported that, in the past year, they had gotten into a serious fight at school or at work; this was similar to the rates in 2007 (22.3 percent) and 2002 (20.6 percent). Almost one in six (14.5 percent) in 2008 had taken part in a group-against-group fight, which was lower than the rates in 2007 (15.4 percent) and 2002 (15.9 percent). About 1 in 30 (3.2 percent) had carried a handgun at least once, which was similar to the rates in 2007 and 2002 (both at 3.3 percent). An estimated 3.0 percent had sold illegal drugs, which was similar to the rate of 2.9 percent in 2007, but was lower than the 4.4 percent rate in 2002. In 2008, 4.6 percent had, at least once, stolen or tried to steal something worth more than $50; this was similar to the rates of 4.3 percent in 2007 and 4.9 percent in 2002. An estimated 7.3 percent had, in at least one instance, attacked others with the intent to harm or seriously hurt them in 2008, which was the same as the rate in 2007 and was similar to the 7.8 percent reported in 2002.
