It is extremely important to note that despite the support that is given to help an effort to help an individual to maintain a state of abstinence, ultimately they may choose to use.
Residential drug rehab treatment offers intensive drug abuse recovery help over a period of weeks or months. This form of treatment has some distinct advantages over out-patient treatment, although it may not always be the answer for everyone. For those who are responsible for caring for young children, local outpatient treatment may be the only option that they can reasonably consider.
In 2005, 59.8 percent of teens aged 12 to 17 reported that they had talked at least once in the past year with at least one of their parents about the dangers of drug, tobacco, or alcohol use?similar to the 60.3 percent in 2004. Past month use of marijuana was lower among teens who had talked with their parents (6.4 percent) than among those who had not (7.4 percent).
