Cocaine facts about how the drug is produced include isolating the cocaine alkaloids from the liquid. This is done with acid and basic mixtures. The alkaloids that are removed in this process are then treated with kerosene.

Often these heroin users are under the misconception that if they do not inject the drug they will not become addicted. Between 1995 and 2005, inhalation and injection accounted for at least 94 percent of annual primary heroin admissions.
