Fairfield, California

Fairfield is the 60th largest city in California. It is the seat of Solano County . The city is located in the northern part of the state. It is about 40 miles northeast of San Francisco where it straddles Interstate 80.

Travis Air Force Base has been located here since 1942. An Anheuser-Busch brewery is located here as well. The brewery offers tours from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM from Tuesday through Saturday all year round. Tours are also provided on Monday during the summer from June through August.

The history of Fairfield stretches back five to six thousand years. That is the age of artifacts of native people which have been excavated here. The first European contact came in 1810 when the Spanish army was ordered to attack the Suisin Indians. In 1835 the Mexican General Vallejo was so magnanimous in victory over the Indian Chief Sem Yeto that the chief later became his ally in conflicts against other tribes. In 1837 the Indian Chief Solano received a land grant from Mexico named Suisun Rancho. This grant eventually came into the hands of a clipper ship captain from Connecticut named Robert H. Waterman. He not only parceled out the town in 1856 but also, in a commercially shrewd move, arranged to have the county seat moved here in 1858 from Benicia. As an inducement he granted sixteen acres of land for the construction of county buildings. In 1903 Fairfield was incorporated as a city.

This is a community which strives to enhance quality of life, especially that of young people. Organizations which are credited with this substantially volunteer effort are The Fairfield Youth Commission, the Community Services Department, partnerships with the private sector, and The Community Services Foundation. Their accomplishments include:

  • The Place To Be Aft Rotary Skate Park
  • Dances for teenagers
  • The Assist-A-Grad Scholarships
  • Recreational scholarships for low-income youth.

Culture is not ignored in the community's commitment to quality of life. The Fairfield Center for Creative Arts houses, sponsors, or hosts the following:

  • The Performing Arts Series, featuring mainly musical soloists and groups, some internationally known, and many famous in the world of pop culture
  • A series of events for children
  • The Fairfield Center Gallery
  • A Father/Daughter Dance
  • The Veterans Day Parade

Fairfield is the home of two prime public golf courses, Paradise Valley and Rancho Solano, voted the number 1 and number 2 courses in Solano County. Other outdoor recreational locations include:

  • Two "pocket parks", which are small, quiet, green spaces suitable for peaceful outings with children
  • At least 20 "neighborhood parks", within walking distance of most homes, which contain playground equipment, benches, picnic amenities, and some sports courts
  • Four "community parks" containing areas for baseball, basketball, soccer, swimming, tennis, horseshoes, roller sports, plus picnic facilities and restrooms
  • Four open spaces (two are open to the public) for hiking and wildlife viewing, comprising hundreds of acres

Do you live in Fairfield, California and have an addiction to drugs or alcohol? Is someone you know or care about battling drug or alcohol addiction and needs help? Drug and alcohol addiction exists everywhere in society today, and when an individual is caught up in addiction it can seem that there is no way out. There is in fact a way out, and it can be found at an Alcohol Treatment or Drug Rehabilitation Facility in Fairfield.

An Alcohol Treatment or Drug Rehab Center in Fairfield treats drug addiction and alcoholism by teaching the individual how to overcome problems in life with real solutions, and that drugs and alcohol are not the answer. This can empower the individual, and put them in a position to start winning and achieving their goals. The end result of treatment at an Alcohol Rehabilitation or Drug Rehab Facility in Fairfield would be the individual being able to work their way through life and its obstacles, without the need or desire to use drugs or alcohol.

Due to the varying needs of individuals seeking treatment, there are a number of treatment programs available in Fairfield to care for someone addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. There are Short-term Drug Rehabilitation Programs, Inpatient Drug Rehabilitation, Long-term Rehab Centers, Outpatient Drug Rehabilitation Programs, support group meetings, drug counseling, halfway houses and sober living.

Treatment at an Alcohol Rehabilitation or Drug Treatment Facility in Fairfield will hone in on the two main causes of addiction, physical and psychological. Over time, the individual's brain adapts to the use of a psychoactive substance, lessening the effect of the drug. Physical tolerance develops as a result. The person ends up having to take more and more drugs or alcohol to try and get back to that first initial high that got them hooked.

Upon commencing treatment, an individual will address the physical aspect of addiction by taking part in a detoxification program in Fairfield, California, which will get him through the uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms that are caused by abrupt cessation of a substance. Withdrawal symptoms can typically last for days, weeks or months depending on the type of substance you're dealing with. Heroin withdrawal for example may take quite some time to get through, and is particularly painful. Detoxification along with psychological counseling will get the individual in the right frame of mind to start addressing the psychological issues that are involved with the addiction to drugs or alcohol. This method greatly increases the individual's chances of a successful recovery and prevents relapse.

An Alcohol Treatment or Drug Rehabilitation Facility in Fairfield, CA. offers a sane environment that is conducive to a successful recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The individual will be taught how to properly handle life situations and control their own behavior in response to their environment. When the individual returns home following treatment, he will do so with a new mindset on how to engage with friends, family etc. The influences which may have triggered addiction in the individual will not have the same power over him. As part of treatment the individual will have addressed these psychological stressors as a priority and they will no longer have an effect on him.

Studies have shown that an individual who is addicted to drugs and alcohol shows changes in their brain, specifically the way it functions and responds to situations. This is an important reason that professional help at a Drug Treatment or Alcohol Rehab Facility in Fairfield, CA. is the best option to try and beat addiction.

Someone who is caught up in the destructive cycle of addiction is up against a lot, the odds may seem against him. But they aren't if he pursues treatment at a Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Rehab Program in Fairfield, CA. Treatment exists so that the addict is given the best chance at a successful recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. There is hope for you or someone you care about. Addiction has a cure, and treatment at a Drug Treatment or Alcohol Rehab Center in Fairfield is that cure. Don't wait another minute to get the help you deserve.

Almost half (49.1 percent) of teens aged 12 to 17 reported in 2007 that it would be "fairly easy" or "very easy" for them to obtain marijuana if they wanted some.
