Ontario, California

Introduction to Ontario, California

Incorporated in 1891, Ontario is California's 23rd largest city. It is home to approximately 170,000 inhabitants. Ontario lies within the metropolitan area of Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario which houses about 3.5 million people. It is known as part of "The Inland Empire" because at one time there was no built-up urban landscape between it and Los Angeles. Ontario is 47 miles east of Los Angeles and 36 miles from the Pacific Ocean.

From 1881 to 1887, two brothers named George and William Chaffey, both engineers, founded Ontario. They named it after the Canadian province they hailed from. Like nearby Riverside, their "Model Colony" was intended to be dry and well balanced between work, education, and religion. Also like Riverside, they provided a system of irrigation for agriculture. Oranges, lemons, olives, and grapes were cultivated. Easterners were drawn to the city as they sought a warm climate conducive to their individual health needs.

In July, the average daily high temperature is 95 degrees Fahrenheit and the average daily low is 63 degrees. January daily highs and lows average 68 and 45 degrees Fahrenheit.

Are you battling an addiction to drugs or alcohol and live in Ontario, California? Do you have a friend or family member that is addicted to drugs or alcohol in Ontario and you don't know where to turn to for help? Addiction to any substance can be a very dark and lonely place, not just for the abuser but for anyone that cares about them. All hope is not lost; there are effective solutions out there. We can help you find an Alcohol Rehabilitation or Drug Treatment Center in Ontario that will be appropriate for your treatment needs.

An Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Program in Ontario is a perfect solution for the treatment of drug addiction and alcoholism. Treatment will be geared towards helping the individual overcome their need to fix problems in their life with drugs and alcohol. Once they can grasp this, they will be able to cope with life situations more appropriately and resolve their problems without substances.

There are a variety of approaches to addiction treatment. Examples offered in Ontario are Outpatient Addiction Recovery, Long-term Treatment Centers, Short-term Drug and Alcohol Rehab Facilities, Inpatient Treatment Centers, support group meetings, drug counseling, halfway houses and sober living.

Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Centers in Ontario will target both the physical and psychological aspects of addiction. Individuals are treated for physical addiction by undergoing a detoxification program in Ontario, California to assist with the uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms which result when an addict discontinues use of a substance they are addicted to. Continued use of a psychoactive substance over time causes the brain to adapt to the presence of the drug, making the desired effect minimal. Physical tolerance to drugs such as heroin, amphetamines, cocaine, nicotine and alcohol develops in this way. Over time, more and more of the addictive drug is required to get the same effect. Quitting an addictive drug abruptly causes serious withdrawal symptoms, which may take the body weeks or months to return to normal function. Withdrawing from hardcore drugs such as heroin can cause extremely severe and painful withdrawal symptoms, which can last for quite some time.

A Drug Treatment or Alcohol Rehab Facility in Ontario will be able to administer a professional detox as well as assistance with psychological issues. These underlying psychological issues are at the root of all drug and alcohol addiction problems. Addressing this head on will decrease the chances of relapse and increase the chances of a fully rehabilitated and contributing member of society. An Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Facility in Ontario, CA. has proven to be the most successful method for treating an individual with a severe drug addiction problem. A Drug Treatment or Alcohol Rehab Center in Ontario, follows a rigid, comprehensive program to ensure a successful recovery. This program addresses every aspect of addiction and every area where the person could be having trouble.

To ensure a lasting recovery, the individual must gain the knowledge, abilities and "life tools" to change their behavior and reaction to situations. The individual's program will be focused on strategies for returning home to Ontario, from an Alcohol Treatment or Drug Rehabilitation Center and even running into prior drug using friends or acquaintances in Ontario. Upon completion of their program, the individual will be able to deal with the reminders and triggers in Ontario which may have prompted their drug use, as these same triggers can produce psychological stressors. These psychological stressors, if not addressed, can make it very hard for an individual to control their response to drug using impulses. Research has shown that an addict shows changes in the way their brain functions after having discontinued using drugs and/or alcohol. Because of this, even an individual with the best of intentions may find it extremely hard to overcome drug addiction or alcoholism without professional addiction treatment.

So you can see that a recovering addict has a lot to deal with when deciding to kick the habit. With triggers, drug cravings, and changes in the way their brain functions due to habitual drug use, seeking help at an Alcohol Rehab or Drug Treatment Facility to successfully recovery from drug and alcohol addiction is a no-brainer.

A person that is serious about the decision to get sober should enroll in an Alcohol Rehabilitation or Drug Treatment Program in Ontario, CA. Why fail again on your own? Why lose another friend or push a family member even further away? Why beg, cheat, and steal just to get drugs or alcohol, risking legal problems and jail time? You don't have to be depressed and unhappy because of excessive drug or alcohol use. There is help available, even for the most severe addicts.

Interesting Facts and Statistics:

As of 1997 rates of current cocaine use were 1.4 percent for African Americans, 0.8 percent for Hispanics, and 0.6 percent for Caucasians.

Makers of Ecstasy can add anything they want to the drug, so its purity is always in question.

Among full-time college students aged 18 to 22, there were increases from 2007 to 2008 in the current rate of use of hallucinogens (from 1.0 to 2.1 percent). Increases were seen for the specific hallucinogens Ecstasy (from 0.5 to 1.2 percent) and LSD (from 0.3 to 0.6 percent). There were no significant changes in the rates of current use for any drugs among persons aged 18 to 22 who were not full-time college students.

Those lower on the totem pole, such as heroin dealers will find that their financial gains do not compare to those in the upper levels of heroin trafficking. This is attributed to the fact that they are more often than not addicts themselves and are frequently in and out of jail. Also, U.S. laws and law enforcement have stepped up their efforts on interrupting the flow of heroin into the United States. They have also increased their efforts in arresting heroin distributors and heroin dependent individuals who commit crimes to maintain their addiction.

Some people experience agitation and extreme suspicion when they quit using cocaine.

Methadone may increase the risk of miscarriage and still births and opiate users in general may give birth to smaller babies.
