Prescription drug abuse and addiction is no different from alcoholism or an addiction to any other substance. However, no one is prescribed alcohol or cocaine for medical reasons.
Percocet addiction is characterized by a pattern of compulsive Percocet use. A hallmark of Percocet addiction is the continued craving for the drug and the need to use more of it for the psychological effects and mood alterations that it brings the user.
