Santa Clarita, CaliforniaIntroduction to Santa Clarita, California
Incorporated in 1987, Santa Clarita is the 24th largest city in California. Within Los Angeles County it is the 4th largest city. It is part of the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area, which in the broadest sense, has a population of nearly 18 million people. Santa Clarita lies in the southern part of the state, 22 miles north of Los Angeles. The Pacific Ocean is 27 miles away.
The city is bounded on the west by interstate 5 and on the east by state route 14. These highways intersect near the southern tip of the city at the historic Newhall Pass, the gateway through the mountains to San Fernando Valley to the south, and the rest of Los Angeles (Newhall Pass is also referred to as Fremont Pass and San Fernando Pass).
Santa Clarita is the result of a 1987 merger of several communities which were already in existence - Saugus, Valencia, Canyon Country, Newhall, and parts of Castaic. One goal of the merger was to keep tax dollars local.
Valencia is a planned community. It was designed and built by the Newhall Development Company from the 1960's through the 1990's. This city within a city contains 55 neighborhoods, each with it's own architectural style. One of the advantages of the preplanning of Valencia is the pathways for pedestrians and bicycles known as paseos.
This network provides pleasant access to all sections of the city. For safety and convenience, paseos are routed under and over major roadways. Santa Clarita intends to make these pathways even more widespread in order to alleviate traffic congestion.
Paseos are not the only nod given to non-motorized traffic. The Sand Canyon Equestrian Trail is available in the Canyon Country section of the city, while Valencia Heritage Park provides a trail head for hikers.
Many more outdoor activities are listed below
In spring the City of Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival celebrates the culture and history of the west, and even includes cowboy poetry. Later in the year the Hart of the West Pow Wow celebrates history and culture from the Native American Indian point of view. In the summer the city
provides free Concerts in the Parks. The fall brings the International Family Film Festival, while in winter you can enjoy a Lighted Boat Parade at Castaic Lagoon.
In 1999 and again in 2000, Santa Clarita was one of the Finalist Communities for the "All-America City Award" conferred by the National Civic League. The city consistently ranks within the FBI's top 10 safest cities in the U.S.
Santa Clarita is primarily a residential community. While most job opportunities are not far away, within it's borders the largest employers are the William S. Hart Unified School District, Six Flags Magic Mountain, and the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital .

Do you live in Santa Clarita, California and have an addiction to drugs or alcohol? Is someone you know or care about battling drug or alcohol addiction and needs help? Drug and alcohol addiction exists everywhere in society today, and when an individual is caught up in addiction it can seem that there is no way out. There is in fact a way out, and it can be found at an Alcohol Treatment or Drug Rehabilitation Facility in Santa Clarita.
A Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Rehab Center in Santa Clarita treats drug addiction and alcoholism by teaching the individual how to overcome problems in life with real solutions, and that drugs and alcohol are not the answer. This can empower the individual, and put them in a position to start winning and achieving their goals. The end result of treatment at an Alcohol Rehabilitation or Drug Rehab Program in Santa Clarita would be the individual being able to work their way through life and its obstacles, without the need or desire to use drugs or alcohol.
Due to the varying needs of individuals seeking treatment, there are a number of treatment programs available in Santa Clarita to care for someone addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. There are Short-term Rehab Programs, Inpatient Rehab Programs, Long-term Rehab Programs, Outpatient Rehab Facilities, support group meetings, drug counseling, halfway houses and sober living.
Treatment at an Alcohol Rehab or Drug Treatment Facility in Santa Clarita will hone in on the two main causes of addiction, physical and psychological. Over time, the individual's brain adapts to the use of a psychoactive substance, lessening the effect of the drug. Physical tolerance develops as a result. The person ends up having to take more and more drugs or alcohol to try and get back to that first initial high that got them hooked.
Upon commencing treatment, an individual will address the physical aspect of addiction by taking part in a detoxification program in Santa Clarita, California, which will get him through the uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms that are caused by abrupt cessation of a substance. Withdrawal symptoms can typically last for days, weeks or months depending on the type of substance you're dealing with. Heroin withdrawal for example may take quite some time to get through, and is particularly painful. Detoxification along with psychological counseling will get the individual in the right frame of mind to start addressing the psychological issues that are involved with the addiction to drugs or alcohol. This method greatly increases the individual's chances of a successful recovery and prevents relapse.
An Alcohol Rehabilitation or Drug Treatment Facility in Santa Clarita, CA. offers a sane environment that is conducive to a successful recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The individual will be taught how to properly handle life situations and control their own behavior in response to their environment. When the individual returns home following treatment, he will do so with a new mindset on how to engage with friends, family etc. The influences which may have triggered addiction in the individual will not have the same power over him. As part of treatment the individual will have addressed these psychological stressors as a priority and they will no longer have an effect on him.
Studies have shown that an individual who is addicted to drugs and alcohol shows changes in their brain, specifically the way it functions and responds to situations. This is an important reason that professional help at an Alcohol Treatment or Drug Rehab Center in Santa Clarita, CA. is the best option to try and beat addiction.
Someone who is caught up in the destructive cycle of addiction is up against a lot, the odds may seem against him. But they aren't if he pursues treatment at a Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Rehab Program in Santa Clarita, CA. Treatment exists so that the addict is given the best chance at a successful recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. There is hope for you or someone you care about. Addiction has a cure, and treatment at a Drug Rehab or Alcohol Treatment Center in Santa Clarita is that cure. Don't wait another minute to get the help you deserve.

Rhode Island's rate of 32.0 percent was the highest among States for this age group. The main goal of Methadone maintenance treatment is to reduce illegal heroin use and the criminal acts that are associated with heroin addiction.
Crime and heroin addiction have long been associated together. This is due to many reasons such as the fact that heroin importation and distribution are illegal. Also, heroin and crime are synonymous because many addicted people turn to theft and prostitution to obtain money to buy the drug. Violent competition between drug dealers has resulted in many murders and the deaths of innocent bystanders. From 1979 through 1990 arrests for heroin manufacture, sale, or possession in the United States held steady, but in the 1990s arrests rose as the drug's popularity began to increase once more.
