Do you live in Windsor Locks, Connecticut and have an addiction to drugs or alcohol? Is someone you know or care about battling drug or alcohol addiction and needs help? Drug and alcohol addiction exists everywhere in society today, and when an individual is caught up in addiction it can seem that there is no way out. There is in fact a way out, and it can be found at an Alcohol Treatment or Drug Rehabilitation Facility in Windsor Locks.

A Drug Treatment or Alcohol Rehab Facility in Windsor Locks treats drug addiction and alcoholism by teaching the individual how to overcome problems in life with real solutions, and that drugs and alcohol are not the answer. This can empower the individual, and put them in a position to start winning and achieving their goals. The end result of treatment at an Alcohol Rehab or Drug Treatment Program in Windsor Locks would be the individual being able to work their way through life and its obstacles, without the need or desire to use drugs or alcohol.

Due to the varying needs of individuals seeking treatment, there are a number of treatment programs available in Windsor Locks to care for someone addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. There are Short-term Addiction Recovery, Inpatient Drug and Alcohol Rehab Programs, Long-term Drug and Alcohol Rehabs, Outpatient Addiction Recovery Facilities, support group meetings, drug counseling, halfway houses and sober living.

Treatment at a Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Rehab Center in Windsor Locks will hone in on the two main causes of addiction, physical and psychological. Over time, the individual's brain adapts to the use of a psychoactive substance, lessening the effect of the drug. Physical tolerance develops as a result. The person ends up having to take more and more drugs or alcohol to try and get back to that first initial high that got them hooked.

Upon commencing treatment, an individual will address the physical aspect of addiction by taking part in a detoxification program in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, which will get him through the uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms that are caused by abrupt cessation of a substance. Withdrawal symptoms can typically last for days, weeks or months depending on the type of substance you're dealing with. Heroin withdrawal for example may take quite some time to get through, and is particularly painful. Detoxification along with psychological counseling will get the individual in the right frame of mind to start addressing the psychological issues that are involved with the addiction to drugs or alcohol. This method greatly increases the individual's chances of a successful recovery and prevents relapse.

A Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Rehab Program in Windsor Locks, CT. offers a sane environment that is conducive to a successful recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The individual will be taught how to properly handle life situations and control their own behavior in response to their environment. When the individual returns home following treatment, he will do so with a new mindset on how to engage with friends, family etc. The influences which may have triggered addiction in the individual will not have the same power over him. As part of treatment the individual will have addressed these psychological stressors as a priority and they will no longer have an effect on him.

Studies have shown that an individual who is addicted to drugs and alcohol shows changes in their brain, specifically the way it functions and responds to situations. This is an important reason that professional help at an Alcohol Rehabilitation or Drug Rehab Center in Windsor Locks, CT. is the best option to try and beat addiction.

Someone who is caught up in the destructive cycle of addiction is up against a lot, the odds may seem against him. But they aren't if he pursues treatment at an Alcohol Rehabilitation or Drug Treatment Center in Windsor Locks, CT. Treatment exists so that the addict is given the best chance at a successful recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. There is hope for you or someone you care about. Addiction has a cure, and treatment at an Alcohol Treatment or Drug Rehabilitation Facility in Windsor Locks is that cure. Don't wait another minute to get the help you deserve.

Facts about heroin and how it makes the user feel depends on how much they use, their tolerance, weight, and how often they use. The "high" from heroin can last anywhere from 2 to 8 hours. However, the average is 2-4 hours. The initial rush lasts a couple of minutes, and then a feeling of warmth and tiredness takes hold and lasts the duration.

Pharmacy diversion of OxyContin occurs when individuals working in pharmacies take products directly from the shelves, or when people make fraudulent prescriptions.

The rates for past month and past year methamphetamine use did not change between 2004 and 2005, but the lifetime rate declined from 4.9 to 4.3 percent. From 2002 to 2005, decreases were seen in lifetime (5.3 to 4.3 percent) and past year (0.7 to 0.5 percent) use, but not past month use (0.3 percent in 2002 vs. 0.2 percent in 2005). Although the number of past month users has remained steady since 2002, the number of methamphetamine users who were dependent on or abused some illegal drug did rise significantly during this period, from 164,000 in 2002 to 257,000 in 2005.

Among teens aged 12 to 17, the current illegal drug use rate remained stable from 2006 (9.8 percent) to 2007 (9.5 percent). Between 2002 and 2007, youth rates declined significantly for illegal drugs in general (from 11.6 to 9.5 percent) and for marijuana, cocaine, hallucinogens, LSD, Ecstasy, prescription-type drugs used nonmedically, pain relievers, stimulants, methamphetamine, and the use of illegal drugs other than marijuana.

The percentage of teens who reported that marijuana, cocaine, and LSD would be easy to obtain increased with age in 2008. For example, 20.5 percent of those aged 12 or 13 said it would be fairly or very easy to obtain marijuana compared with 52.2 percent of those aged 14 or 15 and 71.0 percent of those aged 16 or 17.

In 2007, there were an estimated 529,000 current users of methamphetamine aged 12 or older (0.2 percent of the population). These estimates were not significantly different from the estimates for 2006 (731,000 or 0.3 percent).
