There are a variety of approaches to addiction treatment. Examples offered in Fort Bragg are Outpatient Rehabs, Long-term Drug Rehab Facilities, Short-term Addiction Recovery Facilities, Inpatient Drug Treatment, support group meetings, drug counseling, halfway houses and sober living.

Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Centers in Fort Bragg will target both the physical and psychological aspects of addiction. Individuals are treated for physical addiction by undergoing a detoxification program in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to assist with the uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms which result when an addict discontinues use of a substance they are addicted to. Continued use of a psychoactive substance over time causes the brain to adapt to the presence of the drug, making the desired effect minimal. Physical tolerance to drugs such as heroin, amphetamines, cocaine, nicotine and alcohol develops in this way. Over time, more and more of the addictive drug is required to get the same effect. Quitting an addictive drug abruptly causes serious withdrawal symptoms, which may take the body weeks or months to return to normal function. Withdrawing from hardcore drugs such as heroin can cause extremely severe and painful withdrawal symptoms, which can last for quite some time.

A Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Treatment Program in Fort Bragg will be able to administer a professional detox as well as assistance with psychological issues. These underlying psychological issues are at the root of all drug and alcohol addiction problems. Addressing this head on will decrease the chances of relapse and increase the chances of a fully rehabilitated and contributing member of society. An Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Facility in Fort Bragg, NC. has proven to be the most successful method for treating an individual with a severe drug addiction problem. An Alcohol Treatment or Drug Rehabilitation Facility in Fort Bragg, follows a rigid, comprehensive program to ensure a successful recovery. This program addresses every aspect of addiction and every area where the person could be having trouble.

To ensure a lasting recovery, the individual must gain the knowledge, abilities and "life tools" to change their behavior and reaction to situations. The individual's program will be focused on strategies for returning home to Fort Bragg, from an Alcohol Treatment or Drug Rehab Facility and even running into prior drug using friends or acquaintances in Fort Bragg. Upon completion of their program, the individual will be able to deal with the reminders and triggers in Fort Bragg which may have prompted their drug use, as these same triggers can produce psychological stressors. These psychological stressors, if not addressed, can make it very hard for an individual to control their response to drug using impulses. Research has shown that an addict shows changes in the way their brain functions after having discontinued using drugs and/or alcohol. Because of this, even an individual with the best of intentions may find it extremely hard to overcome drug addiction or alcoholism without professional addiction treatment.

So you can see that a recovering addict has a lot to deal with when deciding to kick the habit. With triggers, drug cravings, and changes in the way their brain functions due to habitual drug use, seeking help at an Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Program to successfully recovery from drug and alcohol addiction is a no-brainer.

A person that is serious about the decision to get sober should enroll in a Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Rehab Facility in Fort Bragg, NC. Why fail again on your own? Why lose another friend or push a family member even further away? Why beg, cheat, and steal just to get drugs or alcohol, risking legal problems and jail time? You don't have to be depressed and unhappy because of excessive drug or alcohol use. There is help available, even for the most severe addicts.

Did You Know? ...
Interesting Facts and Statistics:

Because of its mood altering effects, OxyContin, like morphine, can be abused and unlawful possession may result in criminal prosecution.

Among young adults 18 to 22 years old, full time college students were less likely to be current cigarette smokers than their peers who were not enrolled full time in college. Cigarette use in the past month in 2006 was reported by 28.4 percent of full time college students, less than the rate of 43.5 percent for those not enrolled full time.

There were 6.2 million (2.5 percent) persons aged 12 or older who used prescription-type psychotherapeutic drugs nonmedically in the past month. These estimates were lower than in 2007 (6.9 million or 2.8 percent).

The percentage of teens aged 12 to 17 indicating that smoking marijuana once a month was a great risk increased from 32.4 percent in 2002 to 34.9 percent in 2003, but did not change between 2003 and 2004 (35.0 percent). There were declines between 2003 and 2004 in the percentages of teens perceiving a great risk in using cocaine and heroin. Perceived risk of cigarette use increased between 2003 and 2004, but there was no change in the perceived risk of having four or five drinks of alcohol nearly every day or having five or more drinks once or twice a week.

Prosecutors in Tazewell County, Virginia reported in October 2000 that more than 150 people had been charged with felonies associated with OxyContin abuse.

Physicians should be alerted to the fact that those addicted to prescription drugs may engage in the practice of "doctor shopping"- moving from provider to provider in an effort to obtain multiple prescriptions for the drugs that they abuse.
