Are drugs and alcohol creating destruction in your life in Hertford, NC.? Do you know of someone in Hertford, NC. that is going down the dark path of drug or alcohol addiction? It is very easy for someone to fall into the trap of addiction, but an individual soon realizes that it is extremely difficult to kick an addiction. That is where an Alcohol Rehab or Drug Treatment Program in Hertford comes in, to assist with the seemingly impossible task of treating individuals who have lost hope at ever being sober and happy again.

An Alcohol Rehabilitation or Drug Rehab Program in Hertford treats drug addiction and alcoholism by ingraining in an addict that drugs and alcohol are not the solution to their problems and difficulties in life. It teaches an addict that all of their problems have solutions, solutions that can be found through cognitive reasoning and common sense. An Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Center in Hertford would put the individual in the frame of mind to overcome life's obstacles by confronting them head on, and obliterates the person's desire to use drugs as a way out.

There are many different types of in-patient and out-patient treatment programs available in Hertford, NC., because each individual has different needs. Examples of programs available in Hertford are Outpatient Addiction Recovery Programs, Short-term Drug and Alcohol Rehab Centers, Inpatient Drug Rehabilitation Centers, Long-term Drug Rehabilitation Facilities, support group meetings, drug counseling, halfway houses and sober living.

Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Centers in Hertford have a two-prong approach to treatment, both the physical and psychological causes and effects of drug and alcohol addiction. As the individual's brain adapts to the use of a psychoactive substance over time, the effect that the drug creates within the body is lessened. Due to this physical tolerance, more and more drugs or alcohol must be consumed to get high or even get a buzz.

The physical aspect of addiction is the first thing an addict will address when making the decision to seek treatment for addiction. A detoxification program in Hertford, North Carolina delivered by a qualified Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Treatment Program will navigate the addict through the uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms that are caused by abruptly coming off of drugs or alcohol. These withdrawal symptoms can last for days, weeks or months; all depending on the drug of choice and individual circumstances. Heroin withdrawal for example will take a considerable amount of time to detox and is a highly painful and uncomfortable process. Detoxification and psychological counseling right from get-go will put the individual on the right path to address issues involved with drug and alcohol abuse. This gives the individual a better chance of having a lasting recovery and prevents relapse.

A Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Rehab Program in Hertford, NC. takes the individual out of the environment which may have triggered their addiction, and offers an environment that will ensure a successful recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The individual will be given tools to better handle life situations and triggers which may have caused their drug use. When the individual completes treatment and does return home, he will do so with a new ability to handle triggers, which will no longer have an influence over him, his actions and behavior.

People who have abused drugs and alcohol shows changes in their brain. Research shows that these changes in the brain effect how an addict responds to situations. Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Facilities are aware of this and know that an addict will need more than high hopes to beat addiction. This is yet another reason why professional treatment at a Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Treatment Facility in Hertford, NC. is so important.

There are a lot of reasons to seek treatment today, mainly because most people who try to kick the habit on their own will fail and just start using drugs or alcohol again. Tackling addiction and getting control of your life can be achieved by seeking treatment at a Drug Rehab or Alcohol Rehabilitation Program in Hertford, NC. It doesn't have to be another failure, sobriety can be achieved with the right technology and the care and support of people who want to see you winning again. Don't think about it, do something about it and get your life or the life of someone you care about on the road to a sober and happy life today. Treatment can begin immediately by finding which option is best for you at one of the many Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Programs in Hertford, NC.

Interesting Facts and Statistics:

Although the root causes of drug addiction remain unclear, the new study reveals that scientists have identified a number of biological, psychological and social conditions that can help to identify whether a person will become an addict.

Perceived risk is measured by NSDUH as the percentage reporting that there is great risk in the substance use behavior. The percentage of teens aged 12 to 17 perceiving great risk in smoking marijuana once or twice a week increased from 51.5 percent in 2002 to 55.0 percent in 2005, but dropped to 53.1 percent in 2008. A decline from 2005 to 2008 also was observed for using LSD once or twice a week (76.2 percent in 2002, 76.1 percent in 2005, and 73.9 percent in 2008). Between 2002 and 2008, the percentages who reported great risk in using alcohol and cigarettes increased. In 2002, 63.1 percent of teens reported great risk in smoking one or more packs of cigarettes per day, and in 2008 the percentage increased to 69.7 percent. In 2002, 38.2 percent reported great risk in binge drinking once or twice a week, and in 2008 the percentage increased to 40.5 percent.

Decreases in the rate of current use of a substance often occur when there are increases in the level of perceived risk of using that substance. Looking over the 7-year period, the proportion of teens aged 12 to 17 who reported perceiving great risk from smoking one or more packs of cigarettes per day increased from 63.1 percent in 2002 to 69.7 percent in 2008. During the same period, the rate of past month cigarette smoking among teens aged 12 to 17 dropped from 13.0 to 9.1 percent.

Illegal drug or alcohol dependence or abuse is associated with educational status. Among adults aged 18 or older in 2001, those who had not completed high school had the highest rate of illegal drug or alcohol dependence or abuse (8.2 percent), while college graduates had the lowest rate of illegal drug or alcohol dependence or abuse (6.1 percent). This association is due primarily to the strong association between illegal drug dependence or abuse with education (3.7 percent for adults with less than a high school education vs. 0.9 percent for college graduates). There is no clear association between education and alcohol dependence or abuse.

Among persons aged 12 or older, the overall rate of past month marijuana use in 2006 (6.0 percent) was the same as in 2005 and was similar to the rates in earlier years going back to 2002.

More than one fifth (22.7 percent) of persons aged 12 or older participated in binge drinking at least once in the 30 days prior to the survey in 2005. This translates to about 55 million people, comparable with the estimates reported since 2002.
