Do you have a problem with drug or alcohol addiction and live in Clarion, Pennsylvania? Are you concerned about a family member in Clarion, who has a problem like this? Whatever your situation it's easy to believe that you're alone with this . . . that, somehow, you have to solve the problem all on your own. That is not the case. We care about you - and will help you find a Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Treatment Program in Clarion, suited to your specific treatment needs. You don't have to deal with drug addiction or alcoholism on your own!

A Drug Rehab or Alcohol Rehabilitation Facility in Clarion, is a good option for the treatment of drug addiction and alcoholism. The goal of an Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Program in Clarion, PA. is to direct the initial treatment plan toward the ability of the individual to stop using drugs and/or alcohol and hence avoid the psychological, legal, financial, social, and physical consequences that are usually associated with drug addiction and alcoholism.

There are many different addiction treatment approaches such as Long-term Addiction Treatment Facilities, Outpatient Rehabs, Short-term Addiction Recovery Facilities, Inpatient Addiction Treatment Centers, support group meetings, drug counseling, halfway houses and sober living.

Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Centers in Clarion, typically focus on the two-fold nature of drug addiction and alcoholism: physical and psychological addiction. Physical addiction can be treated by a detoxification program in Clarion, Pennsylvania with treatment procedure to assist with the painful withdrawal symptoms which manifest themselves when a person discontinues the consumption of a drug or drugs that they are addicted to. With habitual use of a psychoactive substance the brain gradually adapts to the presence of the drug so the desired effect becomes minimal. This is how physical tolerance develops to drugs such as heroin, amphetamines, cocaine, nicotine and alcohol to name a few. It also explains why more and more of the drug is needed to get the same effect with habitual use of an addictive drug. The abrupt cessation of an addictive drug can lead to serious withdrawal symptoms where the body may take weeks or months (depending on the drug involved) to return to normal function. The withdrawal symptoms from certain substances, such as heroin, can induce severe and painful withdrawal symptoms, and be quite prolonged.

An Alcohol Treatment or Drug Rehabilitation Program in Clarion, will not only provide the person with a professional detox but also provide an Alcohol Rehabilitation or Drug Treatment Center for the psychological issues inevitably underlying all drug and alcohol addiction problems, so as to decrease the chances of relapse and increase the chances of a clean and sober life.

A Drug Rehab or Alcohol Rehabilitation Program in Clarion, PA. is more likely to be one of the most successful methods for treating an individual with a severe drug addiction problem. Alcohol Rehab or Drug Rehabilitation Facilities in Clarion, are designed to deliver a comprehensive treatment curriculum and assist a person in every facet of their life 24 hours a day.

For a person to make a successful recovery, they must acquire new knowledge, abilities and 'life skills'. This new knowledge, abilities and life skills must be directed toward strategies for returning home to Clarion, from a Drug Rehabilitation or Alcohol Treatment Center and encountering old drug using acquaintances in Clarion - as well as ways to handle the many reminders and triggers of their past drug using days in Clarion. These triggers can produce memories which can produce psychological stressors. These psychological stressors often hinder the recovering addict, making it very difficult for them to feel as though they have control over their actions concerning drug using impulses. This is because research into the brain of addicts shows changes in the way their brain functions long after they have discontinued using drugs and/or alcohol. This is the main reason why even an individual with will power as strong as steel may find it extremely difficult to overcome drug addiction or alcoholism without professional addiction treatment. With so many obstacles such as triggers, drug cravings, and changes in the way their brain functions due to habitual drug use, it is no surprise why so many people attend a Drug Treatment or Alcohol Rehab Program each year to successfully recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.

There are many reasons why a person should enroll into a Drug Treatment or Alcohol Rehabilitation Facility in Clarion. A few of the many reasons are: the inability to control or eliminate their drinking or drug use, alienating their friends and family, legal problems, severe depression and general unhappiness due to excessive drug or alcohol use.

Interesting Facts and Statistics:

According to the Drug Abuse Warning Network (DAWN), over two-thirds of the top twenty most abused controlled substances in the United States are prescription medications; benzodiazepines top the list.

Although there are no medications for treating marijuana abuse, drug treatment programs have shown efficacy in treating marijuana dependence.

In 2005, there were 2.1 million teens aged 12 to 17 (8.3 percent of this population) who needed treatment for an illegal drug or alcohol use problem. Of this group, only 181,000 teens received treatment at a specialty facility (8.6 percent of teens who needed treatment), leaving 1.9 million teens who needed treatment for a substance use problem but did not receive it at a specialty facility.

Nationally in 2002, about 3.0 percent of persons aged 12 or older were dependent on or had abused illegal drugs in the past year. The District of Columbia had the highest rate of illegal drug abuse or dependence for persons aged 12 or older (4.3 percent), and Kansas had the lowest rate (2.5 percent). Most of the States in the highest fifth were in the West (six States). Only four of the States in the top fifth for illegal drug dependence or abuse also were in the top fifth for alcohol dependence or abuse among persons aged 12 or older: District of Columbia, Montana, New Mexico, and Rhode Island. Rhode Island had the highest rate for illegal drug dependence or abuse among persons aged 18 to 25 (13.9 percent); Vermont had the highest rate among teens (8.8 percent). There were no States common to the highest fifth for all three age groups (12 to 17, 18 to 25, and 26 or older).

Most teens aged 12 to 17 believed their parents would "strongly disapprove" of their using substances. In 2006, 91.4 percent of teens aged 12 to 17 reported that their parents would strongly disapprove of their smoking one or more packs of cigarettes per day. A majority of teens (90.4 percent) reported that their parents would strongly disapprove of their trying marijuana or hashish once or twice, and 89.6 percent reported their parents would strongly disapprove of their having one or two drinks of an alcoholic beverage nearly every day. These rates of perceived parental disapproval in using substances in 2006 were similar to those reported in 2005.

As a percentage of those who had not used marijuana prior to the past year, youth marijuana initiation declined significantly from 5.8 percent in 2004 to 5.2 percent in 2005.
